Team USA wins gold medal at FIBA World Basketball Championships today,beating surprising Turkey 81-64. The Argentines were the #1 ranked team according to FIBA,and Spain was the defending champion,so it cannot be said that this was completely expected (although most knew we'd have a solid shot).

Its also worth mentioning that the 6-7 BEST basketball players in the world, Americans, did not play and they still won the tourney, winning every game by double digits sans Brazil.

LeBron, Kobe, D-Wade, Bosh, Howard, Paul, Carmelo, Tim Duncan, Artest, etc... did not play.

It was Kevin Durant (DURANTULA!!! he was awesome, unstoppable), Rudy Gay, Russel Westbrook, Chauncey Billups, Kevin Love, Andre Igoudala, Tyson Chandler, Lamar Odom, etc... that led the US to victory.
